08/15/2011 - International Pop Overthrow (IPO)
From August 30 to September 3, 2011, The Railway Club will host the Vancouver leg of this growing international live
music event. International Pop Overthrow began 13 years ago in Los Angeles, California and has
since spread to cities in the U.S., Canada and England.
The goal of International Pop Overthrow, otherwise known as IPO, is to give the world's best (and up-and-coming) pop music artists the chance to play in a festival atmosphere, have fun, grow their fan bases and generate buzz to get the attention of influential record labels.
Between 25-180 bands can perform at any given event location. According to the IPO website, Vancouver's iconic and intimate live music venue The Railway Club is scheduled to host 40 live bands over five nights and is the only venue where you can experience the 2011 festival stop in Vancouver.
