10/12/2011 - October Dining Events in Vancouver

The latter half of October will be host to two popular dining events - Taste of Yaletown and the Candlelight Conservation Dinner. Both give you the chance to nosh on local cuisine while taking advantage of enticing deals on prix fixe or a-la-carte menu choices.

Taste of Yaletown - October 19-30, 2011

Taste of Yaletown currently boasts more than 20 participating restaurants and bars in the converted warehouse district bordering False Creek in downtown Vancouver. You can choose from prix fixe menus priced at $25, $35 and $45 in dining atmospheres ranging from pub casual to high-end.

Visit the Yaletown Business Improvement Association to view current Taste of Yaletown menus. Proceeds from the event, presented by CIBC, will support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Book early as popular restaurants will sell out fast.

Candlelight Conservation Dinner, October 27, 2011

Here's a great way to spark romance while saving energy: The Candlelight Conservation Dinner. The event is a project of BC Hydro Team Powersmart in partnership with tourism and community organizations and dozens of participating restaurants in Southwestern B.C., Vancouver Island and the Central and Northern Interior.

More than 40 Vancouver establishments will dim their lights to a new shade of ambience during the annual dinner, to draw attention to electricity conservation, according to local event partner Tourism Vancouver. Each will also offer a special discount or promotion to patrons in conjunction with the event.
