01/09/2012 - 2012 Vancouver International Wine Festival

The Vancouver Playhouse International Wine festival returns February 22 to March 4 for another great year showcasing wineries from around the world.

The annual Festival is one of the oldest and largest on the continent, with grand room tastings, wine pairing events, dinners, lunches and brunches, culinary competitions and educational sessions. This year the event will feature wines of Chile.

The most popular public events and tastings sell out fast and admission prices range from $29 to $450. Tickets go on sale January 10, so get yours early.

Central to the event are the International Festival Tastings, which invite the public to sample and learn about wineries from around the globe. In 2012 they will take place on three nights - Thursday, March 1, and Friday and Saturday March 2 and 3 - from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre (West). Advance tickets are $85.

The International Wine Festival has raised $7.5 million for the Vancouver Playhouse since 1979, enabling the theatre company to continue to create educational and community outreach programs as well as more than 230 theatrical productions.
